I chose Rebecca Blood’s interview with Megan Reardon to read. I thought that it was very straightforward
and easy to follow. I enjoyed reading
Megan’s responses to Rebecca’s questions because she seemed to just say
whatever she felt like, and did not care about framing her answers in a certain
way. It made me feel like I could sense
her personality. I liked this as well
because she seemed very similar to myself.
I especially enjoyed it when she said she talked about making her first
blog just to keep track of links and ideas that she was interested in. This made me feel better about myself because
that is why I started my own blog as well!
I think that there are so many blogs out there with so much purpose and
so many followers, when I merely just post things for myself. I have never really cared too much if people
saw what I posted, or if they commented.
Megan also said that she took away the ability for her readers to comment
on her blogs, even though she gets about 4,000 readers on average every
day. She seemed to be very humble and
down to earth overall, and I think that is why readers would like to follow her
posts.
She created another blog to keep track of things she made, such as
crafts. The purpose of this was to keep notes
on things she was making, so she would take pictures of each step and post them
on her blog to keep track. I can
understand that if you know html code very well, then why not just build your
own website or blog to organize everything like she did. Unfortunately, I’ve just started learning
about html in this class, and do not know very many other people who can use it
either. I think that having a blog is a
great way to express yourself, and be able to communicate with a lot of
different people, whether you choose to or not.
Megan started out small, and didn’t mean to ask for so many peoples’
interest, but now she gets to communicate with so many different people each
day. I think that is something very
unique.
