We’ve
been talking about Fan-Fiction in our class, and how it has been seen in our
society. I think one of my favorite
types of fan fiction would have to be that of AMV’s or
anime music videos. I usually use
YouTube or other host sites to view these fan created videos, and think that
they are not invasive at all to the companies producing the host animes.
I
was first introduced to these videos in high school, and was instantly
hooked. My love of anime and my love of
music were combined into these amazing videos that I could not get enough
of. A lot of people enjoy conveying
scenes that might change the original storyline of the anime. An example of this could be by playing
romantic music and showing cut scenes of particular characters who they wanted
to be an item in the host anime.
Personally, I focus more on the editing of the videos and how the feelings
from the music are conveyed with the scenes chosen for them. One of the best videos I’ve seen is by SR-71:
Goodbye with anime cut scenes from Naruto.
When
I originally started getting into watching these videos, it was because of
Japanese culture. Their technology is so
much more advanced than ours, yet their culture is so different, having many different
values. I think this type of fan fiction
is very popular, and had an interesting technology-focused take on how the
public can express their fan fiction stories.
